Resumen
The article reports on Web crisis due to the number of Web sites that will go online in the coming year's. In past one decade there is growth in Internet. If the growth rates does not slow down, the Web will reach 200 million sites sometime during 2003. The world has about 20,000 user professionals. If all the sites are to be designed by user interface (UI) professional and if a site design did not require more than a single UI professional. Then it can be concluded that every UI professional in this world has to design one web site every working hour from now on to meet the demand. This is not possible, even a small site require more than an hour to design. There are three solutions to the problem. Firstly, making it possible to make a usable site without the help of professionals. Secondly, by training more peoples in Web designing and lastly peoples can continue to use poorly designed sites. As per author, the last solution is not acceptable. Making it easier to design usable sites will likely involve a combination of templates and design conventions. Several Web authoring tools have already started providing templates for the most common types of pages as well as sets of templates for common subsite structures. INSET: HYPERTEXT HISTORY.
