This article examines whether Asia is preparing to take over the world of information technology (IT). The author states that U.S. computer science academic programs are dominated by students from developing countries, especially Asian ones. The author reveals that there has been a 60% decline in the number of U.S. incoming college freshmen considering computer science as a major during the period from 2000 to 2004. The author also contends that Asian countries have begun working together to make IT a priority.
