Resumen
This article discusses the use of innovative computer technology in teaching aids and education for children, in various newfound ways. According to the author, utilizing the potential of various emerging technologies in the realm of computers and information technology, children can be effectively helped develop expertise, pull down good jobs and better their lot. With the ever dwindling number of unskilled jobs, there is an unprecedented urgency in the society for making sure all children have the required core skills. Computational technologies can play an important role in achieving this end by addressing, in new ways, the unique aspects of learners. However, for this vision to come about, computing needs to make strides. The cost of developing and distributing software must plummet but at the same time companies must be able to make a profit. While this has been possible for hardware companies, software in the field of education still leaves a lot to be desired, both in terms of quality and costs.
