Resumen
Intelligence analysis employs a common method of depicting a complex uncertain situation by using diagrams, as in anti-terrorism drives. Natural language processing has been a cupid towards this endeavor employed by numerous intelligence analysts. In the U.S., the intelligence community has focused on improving analysis ever since 1980s. The problem in these endeavors is not a lack of information, but instead, information overload, thereby challenging the information resource management system. Analysts are often not able to locate tools to relevant information, and those who do find it difficult to get support on the conviction of its relevance. Unlike databases and spreadsheets, graph representations facilitate reasoning, which has struck a valid cognizance with graphical representation. Analysts operate in an environment with limited observability, and the ease of reasoning with computer graphics presents a progressive approach to understand uncertain and unpredictable situations.
