Resumen
It is difficult to predict the state of rapidly growing field in communications technology. The material offered on the World Wide Web is largely graphical, thus straining the speed limit of analog line modems. The increase in telecommuting by the small business operator and employees of many large companies has also increased. There are several technologies lined up for the next 14 years. They include satellites in the dress of direct broadcast (DBS), mobile communications spurred by the deployment of personal communicators and the potential worldwide usage supported by multimode phones and satellites like Iridium. DBS offers the capability of sending not only video but also the multicast digital streams at high bandwidth. By the turn of the century, DBS systems around the world will be capable of intercommunicating thus allowing worldwide distribution of sight, sound, data and interaction. There are several points necessary to make when one projects the future technology in communications.
