Resumen
The article focuses on the superconnectivity, the phenomenon of almost perfect transmission of communication and information throughout the human habitations of the universe, via computers. Authors say that the Web might be labeled as a new type of information system, but to people it is fundamentally a new medium of human communication. From this perspective the potential power of the technology becomes clear as superconnectivity. First, no restriction separates information providers from information receivers. Any such distinction that might exist today is an artifice that has no basis in the technology or the economics underlying the network. Secondly, the content of the information on the Web becomes the address for delivery of the information. When viewed as a communication system that gives, or should give, every user equal status as a communicator, then it becomes evident the most serious barrier to superconnectivity through the Web is information overload.
