Resumen
The article discusses about some embarrassing facts about software development, that are faced, in spite of the progress made in field of IT in the past 30 years. Computer programs often don't work as they should, making software development costly. And too much buggy software reaches end users. leading to needless expense and frustration. When something goes wrong in the program, then the people who write program lack ways of figuring out what went wrong. Debugging is still, largely matter of trial and error. Programs are complex artifacts, and debugging is often a struggle against complexity. Computers have color screens and fast graphics. These graphics can help programmers to visualize the behavior of their programs. I this special section of debugging scandal, the author aim to show there is a wide spectrum of innovative ideas that have great potential for radically improving the debugging process. John Domingue and Paul Mulholland show how World Wide Web could be used to foster communities that help each other debug software.
