Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) launches its digital library this month, providing members and subscribers with desktop access to the bulk of its journals, magazines and conference proceedings. This service marks the completion of the initial phases of the ACM publications program to the forefront of the digital, online world. The library provides online access to five valuable services including full text to ACM publications, over 10-years worth of tables of Content for its journals and conference proceedings, bibliographic reference pages and free text search facilities for bibliographic material. ACM's online library is based on the concept of the bibliographic reference page - a freely accessible Web page at acm.org that serves as the primary online home for a published article. All material associated with an article is accessible via this page. Information about each article is maintained in ACM's central publications database.
